Smoldering fires between isolation at warm air ducts to paper machine and wall to machine room. Hidden fires and hard to detect. Lot of smoke at arrival. Car 267 with the Cutting Extinguisher was requested. |

1.5 mm protective metal sheeting was penetrated with the Cutting Extinguisher at three places along the air ducts and at two places on the wall. These activities took about 15 minutes after which the fires were extinguished. This time we did not have to tear down walls or expose hidden areas as we have done at similar fires before we had the Cutting Extinguisher. |
| Analysis |
The Cutting Extinguisher worked very well and with it the fire was put out quickly which saved us both time and work. Production at the plant could continue un-interrupted as we did not have to tear down ducts or walls. |
